Emory, VA - The Lincoln Memorial women's soccer team will travel to Emory, VA on Wednesday, November 5th for the last game of the regular season to face the Emory & Henry Wasps at 5 pm.
Wednesday's contest will be the 4th all time match up between the Railsplitters and the Wasps, with LMU undefeated in the series 3-0. Their most recent meeting was last season at home on November 6th, 2024, where Lincoln Memorial shutout E&H 2-0. They have only faced each other in Emory once, which was on November 1, 2023, and the Railsplitters also came out on top in that match 3-0.
Lincoln Memorial is seeking a spot in the South Atlantic Conference tournament as they are coming off of a 2-1 win over non conference opponent Clayton State.
Riley Miller scored the first goal in the 31st minute, off of a
Viktoria Filsner corner, and
Camden Prosser tallied the game-winning goal in the 87th minute off of a cross from
Ellie Snyder.
Snyder is the new team-leader in points with 13, as she has four goals and five assists ont he season. Filsner is leading the team in shots and shots on goal with 41 and 24, respectively. Goalkeeper
Emma Cooke has 67 saves on the season so far for a 75% save percentage.
In the South Atlantic Conference, Filsner is seventh in assists per game (0.38), fifth in shot accuracy (58.5%), fourth in shots per game (2.56), third in shots on goal per game (1.50), and fourth in total assists (6). Cooke is first in goalie minutes played (1440), sixth in saves per game (4.19), fourth in shutouts (6), and third in total saves (67).
As a team, LMU is third in the SAC in corner kicks per game (6.31), fifth in saves per game (4.44), fourth in shots per game (14.94), fifth in shots on goal per game (7.38), and fifth in total assists (21).
Nationally, Lincoln Memorial is 21st in corner kicks per game.
Emory & Henry is coming off of a 1-6 loss against Wingate on November 1st.
The Railsplitters are entering the midweek match with a 7-5-4 overall record and a conference record of 2-4-3. In the SAC standings, LMU is in 8th place with nine points.
The Wasps are going into Wednesday with an overall record of 8-5-3 and a 1-5-3 conference record. E&H is tied for 9th place in the SAC standings with Newberry with six points.
