Women's Soccer Travels To Catawba For SAC Quarterfinal

Salisbury, NC - Lincoln Memorial women's soccer enter the SAC Tournament as the #8 seed as they travel to Salisbury, NC to face #1 seed Catawba on Saturday, November 8th at 3 pm. 

The weekend meeting will be the 26th overall contest between the Catawba and LMU, with the Railsplitters falling in the series 6-14-5. Their most recent match up was this season on September 20th, where Lincoln Memorial dropped the match 0-3. At the time, Catabwa was ranked #11 in the nation. 

The Railsplitters are coming off the regular season with a 3-2 win over Emory & Henry. Viktoria Filsner scored in the 59th minute, which was assisted by Gabby Barnes, followed by Jade Brown in the 67th minute with Filsner earning the assist. In the 89th minute, Camden Prosser scored the game winning goal, with the assist coming from Lieve Schiphof

Snyder is leading the team in points with 13, as she has four goals and five assists on the season.  Filsner is leading the team in assists, shots, and shots on goal with 7, 45, and 25, respectively. Goalkeeper Emma Cooke has 69 saves on the season so far for a 74% save percentage. 

In the South Atlantic Conference, Filsner is fourth in assists per game (0.41), seventh in shot accuracy (55.6%), fourth in shots per game (2.65), third in shots on goal per game (1.47), and second in total assists (7).  Paige Branam and Prosser are eighth in game-winning goals (2). Cooke is leading the conference in goalie minutes played (1,530), seventh in saves per game (4.06), fourth in shutouts (6), and third in total saves (69). 

Nationally, Cooke is 11th in goalie minutes played. 

As a team, LMU is third in corner kicks per game (6.35), fourth in shots per game (15.12), third in shots on goal per game (7.47), and fifth in total assists (24).

Nationally, Lincoln Memorial is 17th in corner kicks per game. 

Catawba ended the regular season with a 1-1 draw against Lenoir-Rhyne.

The Railsplitters are entering the quarterfinal match with a 8-5-4 overall record and a conference record of 3-4-3, and are entering the tournament as the #8 seed. 

The Catawba Indians are going into Saturday with an overall record of 13-0-4 and a 7-0-3 conference record, and are entering the tournament as teh #1 seed.
