Women's Basketball Aims To Earn Fourth Conference Win Of The Season Against Emory & Henry Wednesday

Harrogate, TN - Lincoln Memorial women's basletball will play one more home game before the holiday break, as they seek to earn their fourth conference win of the season on Wednesday, December 17th against the Emory & Henry Wasps at 5:30 pm in Tex Turner Arena. 

The midweek meeting will be the 8th all time contest between LMU & E&H, with Lincoln Memorial winning the series 5-2. The most recent match up between the two teams was last season on February 12th at Emory & Henry, where the Lady Railsplitters fell in overtime 62-63. The most recent game at home was in December last season, and Lincoln Memorial defeated Emory & Henry 79-77 in overtime. 

Lincoln Memorial is coming off a 65-69 overtime win against Wingate. Alexa Smiddy led the team in scoring with 22 points, as she went 4/9 from the three and 8/10 from the free throw line. Kamil Collier recorded her fourth double double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds, and she also went 8/10 from the charity stripe. 

Currently, Collier leading the team in scoring average with 14.6 points per game, followed by Lexi Patty and Smiddy who are also averaging double digits with 13.4 and 13.1 points per game, respectively. Collier is also the team-leader in rebounding average, with nearly a double digit average per game with 9.9 rebounds per game. 

In the South Atlantic Conference, Smiddy is fourth in assist/turnover ratio (1.78), fourth in assists (32), second in assists per game (4), ninth in steals per game (2.88), seventh in three point attempts (48), eighth in three point percentage (33.3%), seventh in three pointers made (16), and sixth in three pointers made per game (2). Collier is second in the conference in double doubles (4), sixth in field goal percentage (46.9%), eighth in field goals made (45), fifth in free throw percentage (82.8%), ninth in points per game (14.6), third in rebounds (79), third in defensive rebounds per game (6.9), second in offensive rebounds per game (3), and third in rebounds per game (9.9). Patty is sixth in the SAC in assist/turnover ratio (1.57), ninth in assists per game (3.1), seventh in field goal percentage (45.5%), eighth in defensive rebounds per game (5.1), and seventh in rebounds per game (7.1). Asia Barr is fourth in the conference in steals (23), third in steals per game (2.88), fourth in three point percentage (36.4%), seventh in three pointers made (16), and sixth in three pointers made per game (2). 

Nationally, Collier is 22nd in double doubles, 29th in defensive rebounds per game, and 35th in rebounds per game.

Emory & Henry is coming off of a 66-79 loss against Newberry on December 13th. 

Leaders for the Wasps include Breanna Yarber (#10), who is leading in scoring average with 16.4 points per game, followed by Lyndie Ramsy (#1), who is averaging 14 points per game. Ramsey is the team-leader in rebounding average with 6.8 rebounds per game, followed by Yarber with 6.6 per game.

Lincoln Memorial is entering Wednesday with a 7-1 overall record, including a 3-1 mark in conference play. LMU is tied for second place in the SAC standings with Carson-Newman.
 
E&H is going into the midweek with a 3-6 overall record and a conference record of 1-3. In the conference standings, Emory & Henry is tied for fifth place with Newberry and Mars Hill.
