Harrogate, TN - After jumping to 7th in the nation following a perfect 2-0 week last week with wins over UVA-Wise and Newberry at home, the Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team will take to the road Wednesday seeking to sweep the Emory & Henry Wasps in the regular season. The two teams met in late January in Harrogate with the Railsplitters taking an emphatic 81-55 victory, controlling the game from start to finish. Lincoln Memorial remains atop the South Atlantic Conference standings with an overall record of 18-3 on the season, including a 16-2 mark in conference play. Inversely, Emory & Henry rests as the bottom of the conference standings with an overall record of 5-18, including a 3-16 mark in conference play.
The Railsplitters had four players in double figures on Sunday against Newberry at home.
Wes Enis led Lincoln Memorial in scoring with 17 points and five rebounds.
Thomas Allard finished with 11 points.
Jordan Walters and
Osmar Garcia-Araujo added 10 points apiece.
Connor Jordan and
EJ Smith added nine points each, seeing nearly six players crest double figures against the Wolves. Lincoln Memorial's offense is led by Enis, who averages 19.9 points-per-game and 4.5 rebounds-per-game. He is the second leading scorer in the conference. He is followed in scoring by
Elyjah Freeman with 17.3 points-per-game and 8.9 rebounds-per-game. He is the second-best rebounder in the conference statistically, trailing the conference leader by .4 rebounds per game. Freeman is the highest scoring and rebounding freshman in the conference, coming in at eighth in the conference in scoring and second in rebounding.
EJ Smith continues to dictate the pace of the offense, averaging 10 points-per-game.
Jordan Walters is on the cusp of double figures, averaging 9.7 points-per-game to go along with 6.3 rebounds and a team-leading 3.3 assists-per-game.
So far on the season, Lincoln Memorial has held every single opponent it's faced to less than its season average in points scored per game. The Railsplitters are currently sixth in the nation in field goal percentage, ninth in three point field goal percentage, and fourth nationally in offensive efficiency. Lincoln Memorial is ranked first in the conference in fast break points, defensive field goal percentage, free throws made per game, scoring defense, and scoring margin. Walters is 15th nationally and first in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio. Freeman is 13th nationally, and first in the conference, with 10 double-doubles on the season. He is also 28th nationally in field goal percentage. Enis is 41st in the nation in scoring and 15th in the nation in three point field goal percentage, shooting nearly 45% from long range.
