Women's Basketball Hosts Lenoir-Rhyne Saturday

Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial women's basketball team is seeking their ninth conference win of the season Saturday as they face the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears at 2 pm in Tex Turner Arena. 

Saturday's match up will be the second time this season that the two teams have faced each other; the first time being on January 4th, 2025, where the Bears came out on top 63-50 in Hickory, NC. The most recent game that LMU and L-R played each other in Harrogate was in January of 2024, where the Lady Railsplitters fell short 59-68. 

Lincoln Memorial is coming off of a close overtime loss to Emory & Henry 62-63. Three players posted double-digits on the night: Caroline Sikkink led the team with 16, and Kamil Collier and Alexa Smiddy both recorded 10. Matty Tanner was the team-leader in rebounds with 6, and Smiddy led in assists with 6. 

Currently, Smiddy is leading the team in scoring average per game, as she is posting 14 points per game. Collier is also averaging double-digits per game, sitting .8 points behind Smiddy at 13.2 points per game. Collier is the team-leader on the season in rebounds with 9.3 rebounds per game, and Lexi Patty is sitting in second with 4.9. 

In the SAC, Collier is third in the conference in rebounds per game with 9.3, tied for third in defensive rebounds per game with 6.2, anf fifth in offensive rebounds per game with 3.1. Smiddy is still second in the conference in assists per game with 4.5. Tanner and Smiddy are within the top 5 in three-pointers per game: Tanner leading the conference with 2.2-7.4, and Smiddy tied for third with 2.1-5.7. Smiddy's 14 points per game puts her at 11th in the conference in points per game. 

As a team, LMU is second in the SAC in total three-pointers made with 172, and sixth in three-point percentage with 31.1%. Lincoln Memorial is third in the conference in free-throw percentage with a percentage of 74.1%, just 2.2% away from leading the conference. 

The Bears are coming off of a 58-63 loss against Anderson. 

Lincoln Memorial's record is 9-13 overall and 8-11 in the SAC, and LMU is currently sitting in 8th in the SAC standings. Lenoir-Rhyne's record is 10-14 overall and 8-12 in the conference, and they are currently right behind LMU in 9th in the SAC standings.

Tip-off is set for 2 pm in Tex Turner Arena.
