Men's basketball looking to get back on track at Coker Saturday

Harrogate, TN - Just two days after losing its first game in nearly a month, the 6th-ranked Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team is seeking to get back to its winning ways on the road at Coker Saturday. The Railsplitters fell on the road at UVA-Wise on Thursday night in a game that was originally scheduled for Wednesday. Due to inclement weather, the game was moved to Thursday, leaving only one day of rest in between contests. The quick turnaround will see Lincoln Memorial taking on Coker for the second time this season. Earlier in the year, the two teams met as top-25 opponents in Harrogate as the Railsplitters hosted then-21st-ranked Coker, claiming a substantial 109-82 victory in early January. Now in late February, each game carries extra weight toward postseason seeding for conference and national tournaments. Following the loss to UVA-Wise, Lincoln Memorial remains atop the South Atlantic Conference standings with an overall record of 20-4, including an 18-3 mark in conference play. Coker sits at fourth in conference standings with an 18-7 overall record, including a 14-7 mark in SAC play,

Wes Enis also played a superb game, going for 28 points, connecting on six three pointers. Mahmoud Bangura "Mo" also played his best game of the season against Coker, his former team, chipping in a season-high 18 points. The trio combined for 81 points, nearly enough to outscore the Cobras on their own.

Enis, who averages 20 points-per-game and 4.5 rebounds-per-game. He is the third leading scorer in the conference. He is followed in scoring by Freeman with 17 points-per-game and 8.3 rebounds-per-game. He is the fifth-best rebounder in the conference statistically, trailing the conference leader by 1.5 rebounds per game. Freeman is the highest scoring and rebounding freshman in the conference, coming in at eighth in the conference in scoring and fifth in rebounding. EJ Smith continues to dictate the pace of the offense, averaging 10.1 points-per-game. Jordan Walters is on the cusp of double figures, averaging 9.3 points-per-game to go along with 6.1 rebounds and a team-leading 3.2 assists-per-game.

The Railsplitters are currently sixth in the nation in field goal percentage, 22nd in three point field goal percentage, and sixth nationally in offensive efficiency. Lincoln Memorial is ranked first in the conference in fast break points, defensive field goal percentage, free throws made per game, scoring defense, and scoring margin. Walters is 10th nationally and first in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio. Freeman is 19th nationally, and second in the conference, with 10 double-doubles on the season. He is also 24th nationally in field goal percentage. Enis is 40th in the nation in scoring and 24th in the nation in three point field goal percentage, shooting nearly 44% from long range.
