Jefferson City, TN - Three days after throttling Trevecca Nazarene, the Lincoln Memorial baseball team was back in action on the road Friday, traveling to 21st-ranked Carson-Newman who was off to one of the best starts in program history. Lincoln Memorial entered the game with an 8-7 overall record, including a 3-3 mark in conference play. Carson-Newman entered the game with a 12-3 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in conference play.

From the jump, the Eagles were hitting the ball well, racking up three hits and five runs in the first two inning while holding the Railsplitters scoreless. Lincoln Memorial chipped into the lead in the third inning when Joey LaMattina connected on a single up the middle to drive in Kasten Harvey, bringing the score to 5-1.
