11th-ranked Railsplitters claim sixth consecutive SAC regular season title

Harrogate, TN - For the sixth consecutive season, the Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team is the South Atlantic Conference regular season champion. The Railsplitters defeated Limestone 85-64 on Senior Night, increasing their home conference winning streak to an astonishing 67 games. Seniors Jordan Walters, Connor Jordan, and Babacar Thiam were all honored prior to Saturday's game. Walters is one of the most highly decorated basketball players in LMU men's basketball history, losing only one home game, playing in two elite eights, and a final four. With the victory over the Saints, the Railsplitters improved to 23-4 on the season, finishing regular season conference play with a 21-3 overall mark.

The first half of action was incredibly even, with Lincoln Memorial taking a slim 32-30 lead into the half. However, the second half was all Lincoln Memorial. Limestone quickly tied the game at 32-32 out of the half. The Railsplitters compiled an 8-0 lead to jump out to a 40-32 advantage. On the heels of an 8-1 run, the Saints cut back to within one possession, 43-40 with 13:33 left in the game. The Lincoln Memorial lead grew to double digits for the first time late in the second half, when the Railsplitters strung together an 15-8 run to take a 58-48 lead with just under eight minutes remaining in the game. Lincoln Memorial closed the final eight minutes of the game out scoring Limestone by an astonishing 27-6 to take a decisive 85-64 on Senior Night, improving its conference home winning streak to 67 games, finishing the season unbeaten at home (14-0).

Thomas Allard tallied a new career high with 25 points. He was followed by Elyjah Freeman with 17 points, Wes Enis with 16 points and six assists, Jordan Walters with 15 points and 11 rebounds, Connor Jordan with eight points, and Ngundeng Ruey and Osmar Garcia-Araujo with two points each to round out scoring for the Railsplitters. Lincoln Memorial shot 59.2% from the floor, including a 51.9% clip from long range. The Railsplitters tallied 19 assists on 29 made buckets as well.

Lincoln Memorial will now set its sights on Rock Hill, SC for a Tuesday match up against the Wingate Bulldogs in the first round of the SAC men's basketball tournament.
