Emory, VA – The Lincoln Memorial women's lacrosse team ends the regular season on a positive note as they defeat the Emory & Henry Wasps Wednesday afternoon 19-5 for their 5
th conference win of the season.
There was no hesitation to begin the scoring for LMU as they scored their first goal with 14:43 remaining in the first quarter, as
Josie Tinnerello adds her first goal of the match with
Amber Kirkpatrick earning the assist. About four minutes later, Kirkpatrick would score a goal on her own, unassisted, with 11:00 remaining in the first to extend the Railsplitter's lead 2-0. Emory & Henry recorded their first goal of the day with 8:31 remaining as Hicks scores. Not even a minute later,
Jaiden Jaynes records her first goal of the match with 8:04 remaining, unassisted.
Jalee Davis extends the score to 4-1 as she tallies her first goal of the match at 6:07 remaining. Jaynes secures the brace as she scores her second goal of the match with 5:21 remaining, as
Breanna Booth tallied her first assist of the day. The scoring continues for Lincoln Memorial as
Jaedyn Ryba registers her first goal of the match with 2:36 remaining, followed by Jaynes recording the hat trick with her third goal of the day with 1:43 remaining, with
Briana Martinez earning the assist. With that being the last goal of the quarter, Lincoln Memorial goes into the second quarter with a 6-goal lead, 7-1.
The Tinnerello/Kirkpatrick begins the scoring once again in the second quarter as Tinnerello gets the hat trick with her second and third goals of the day as she scores with 13:35 remaining and 11:52 remaining with Kirkpatrick earning both assists. Davis records LMU's 10
th goal as she secures the brace with 10:44 remaining and Kirkpatrick getting her fourth assist of the match. The Wasps record their first scoring run of the day as Jones adds a goal with 10:21 remaining and Hicks adds a goal with 9:30 remaining to make the score 10-3. The next four minutes go by scoreless, as the next player to score is Kirkpatrick as she adds her first goal of the match with 5:40 remaining with Tinnerello earning the assist. The roles reverse as Tinnerello adds her fourth goal of the day with 2:01 remaining in the second with Kirkpatrick earning her fifth assist of the day. With Tinnerello scoring the last goal of the quarter, the score going into halftime would be 12-3 with Lincoln Memorial in the lead.
Emory & Henry begins the scoring in the third quarter as Jones scores with 14:48 remaining. Two minutes later, Lincoln Memorial continues to extend their lead as Tinnerello records her fifth goal of the match with 12:37 remaining as Martinez gains her second assist of the day. Not too long after that,
Ryan Smith puts her mark on the board as she tallies her first goal of the day with 10:36 remaining in the third to give LMU a 10-goal lead, with Booth recording her second assist. Davis then secures the brace with her second goal of the day with 6:33 remaining, unassisted. A minute and a half later at 5:03 remaining, Jaynes records her fourth goal of the day and Martinez getting her third assist of the match. As the remainder of the quarter goes by without a goal scored, LMU goes into the fourth and final quarter with the 12-goal lead 16-4

Tinnerello beings the scoring again in the fourth quarter for LMU as she records her sixth goal of the match with 13:07 remaining, followed by Ryba scoring her second goal of the day with 9:58 remaining, both unassisted. Two minutes later, Kirkpatrick adds their third goal of the match with 7:48 remaining in the fourth. The Wasps add their first goal of the quarter as Hicks scores with 2:45 remaining. With that being the last goal scored, the final score would be 19-5 with Lincoln Memorial taking the win.
Kirkpatrick would lead the day with 8 points for 3 goals and 5 assists, followed by Tinnerello with 6 goals and 1 assist for 7 points. Jaynes falls behind them with 4 points for 4 goals. With the win, LMU improves to 8-9 overall and 5-6 in conference play. Davis and Martinez finish with 3 points, as Davis records 3 goals and Martinez tallies 3 assists. Ryba and Booth finish with 2 points, with Ryba scoring 2 goals and Booth recorded 2 assists. Smith rounds out the points as she finishes the day with 1 goal for 1 point.
Ryba finishes as the team-leader in ground balls with a season-high 6, and Duck leads the team in caused turnovers with 6, which is a season high. Martinez led the team in draw controls with 4.
As a team, Lincoln Memorial recorded 38 shots, with 23 being on goal, 17 successful clears, 27 ground balls, 12 draw controls, 17 caused turnovers and 5 free position opportunities with 3 resulting in a goal.
With the win, LMU improves to 8-9 overall and 5-6 in conference play.
They will see where they will seed in the SAC tournament in the next coming days.
