WVB Heads to Huntsville for UAH Invitational

Harrogate, TN – Women's volleyball will head south this weekend to Huntsville, Alabama for the UAH Invitational, where the Railsplitters are slated to play four matches across two days. LMU will face Trevecca Nazarene and host Alabama-Huntsville on Friday, before closing out the tournament Saturday against Spring Hill and Nova Southeastern.

Lincoln Memorial enters the weekend at 3–2 overall after opening South Atlantic Conference play with a 3–0 sweep of Tusculum on Tuesday night inside Mary Mars Gym. Through five matches, the Railsplitters are averaging just over 12 kills per set with a .204 hitting percentage. At setter, Lauren Pickett and Carley Raleigh have combined to average nearly 11 assists per set, and libero Lauren Jacob leads the defensive effort with 86 digs (4.3 per set).

The weekend opens Friday at 11 a.m. against Trevecca Nazarene University. The Trojans enter at 2–1 on the year, led offensively by outside hitter Addison Cunnagin, who has tallied 33 kills through the opening weeks. Defensively, libero Lily Vanbebber anchors the back row with a team-high 47 digs. This will be the fourth meeting all-time between the programs, with LMU trailing the series 1–2. The most recent matchup came in 2022, when Trevecca earned the win.

Later on Friday, the Railsplitters will face the University of Alabama-Huntsville at 3:30 p.m. The Chargers have opened the season with a 2–1 record and have been particularly strong on the defensive side, averaging 17 digs per set. Offensively, UAH is paced by outside hitter Emily Jones, who is hitting .388 on the year while averaging 4.7 kills per set. The Chargers hold a 32–4 advantage in the all-time series, with the most recent meeting coming in 2022, a match that ended in a win for UAH.

On Saturday morning, the Railsplitters will take on Spring Hill College at 11 a.m. The Badgers, a perennial contender in the SIAC, enter the weekend at 2–2 with a balanced offensive attack led by middle blocker Claire Hayes, who has tallied 77 kills while hitting .271. Defensively, libero Ashlyn Whiteside anchors the back row, averaging 5.22 digs per set. This matchup will mark the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

The Railsplitters will close out the tournament on Saturday at 5:45 p.m. against Nova Southeastern. The Sharks are off to a 2–0 start, winning both of their matches in straight sets. NSU has been impressive offensively, hitting .308 as a team with a balanced attack that averages more than 13 kills per set. On defense, the Sharks are averaging 14.5 digs per set. This will be just the second meeting between the two programs, with LMU earning a 3–0 victory in the first matchup back in 2004.
