Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial field hockey team is slated for its fifth game of the season on Tuesday. Of the for games played already, all of them have been on the road. Starting with back-to-back games in Saint Louis to start the season, the Railsplitters quickly jumped to the northeast corner of the United States for back-to-back games in Masschusetts and New Hampshire. Now, Lincoln Memorial has one more test on the road before its first home game of the season this Friday. The Railsplitters will be in action in the Palmetto State on Tuesday for their first conference action of the season against Lander.
Lincoln Memorial opened the season on the road at Lander last season, falling by one goal, 2-1. The Railsplitters hosted the Bearcats a month later, playing another tight game at home, falling in overtime 2-1. So far on the season, Lander has amassed a 3-0 record with wins over Frostburg State, Converse, and Slippery Rock. Contrary to the Lincoln Memorial early-season schedule, the Bearcats have yet to leave the state of South Carolina. The Railsplitters are 2-2 on the season with wins over Maryville University and American International. The 2-2 start is the best in program history.
Lincoln Memorial and Lander are slated to begin at 7 PM on Tuesday in Greenwood, SC.
