Harrogate, TN – Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball continues South Atlantic Conference play on Tuesday, September 16, welcoming rival UVA Wise to Mary Mars Gymnasium for a 6 p.m. matchup. Fans are encouraged to dress in their best tropical gear as the Railsplitters host Hawaiian Night.
LMU enters the contest at 4–5 overall and 1–0 in SAC play, fresh off a sweep of Tusculum in their conference opener. The Railsplitters are hitting .184 as a team and averaging 11.9 kills per set. Freshman outside hitter Kaytlin Johnson leads the offense with 124 kills (3.54 per set) while swinging .237. She is joined on the outside by Megan Maier (70 kills, 2.19 per set) and Laney Inman (72 kills, .224). Setter Carley Raleigh has directed the attack with 176 assists (5.03 per set), while fellow setter Lauren Pickett has added 161 assists (4.60). Defensively, libero Lauren Jacob anchors the back row with 154 digs (4.40 per set) and 15 service aces.
The Cavaliers come in at 5–4 overall and 0–1 in SAC action, dropping their league opener last week. UVA Wise is hitting .179 as a team and averaging 12.3 kills per set. The Cavaliers are led by outside hitter Mia Poag, who has posted 107 kills (3.45 per set), and Brandon Riley, who adds 75 kills while hitting .187. Setter Piper Suddeth has fueled the attack with 265 assists (8.55 per set), while Abigail Curtis paces the defense with 141 digs (4.55 per set). At the net, Annabelle Dowell has recorded 25 blocks (0.89 per set) to lead the Cavs' front line.
The Railsplitters and Cavaliers have met since 1992, with LMU holding a commanding 20–3 all-time advantage. The Railsplitters have won nine of the last 10 matchups and carry a four-match win streak, including a 3–1 home victory on Nov. 12, 2024. LMU is 8–1 in Harrogate and 10–1 in conference play against UVA Wise.
