Field hockey seeks second consecutive win against Wingate at home

Harrogate, TN - Three days after falling on the road to ninth-ranked Lander, the Lincoln Memorial field hockey team will be back in action on Friday at home against Wingate. It'll be the first home game of the season for the Railsplitters after opening the season with five straight road games, two of which were against top-10 ranked division II competition, and another game against a division I opponent. Lincoln Memorial plays host to the Wingate Bulldogs for what will be a non-conference match up. It is also the "White Out" game for the Railsplitters. Spectators are encouraged to wear white in support of the home team.

Last season, Lincoln Memorial defeated Wingate for the first time in program history in exciting fashion. With the score knotted at the end of regulation, last year's game went into overtime. Following an overtime period, the game went into a shootout scenario, seeing the Railsplitters emerge victorious 1-0. The Bulldogs hold a 4-1 advantage all-time in the series. On the season, Lincoln Memorial has wins over Maryville University (MO) and American International. All three of the Railsplitters' losses are to top-10 teams or division I opponents. amassing a 2-3 record. Wingate is 2-2 on the season with wins over Coker and Frostburg State.
