Harrogate, TN – Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball defended its home court in front of a packed Mary Mars Gym on Thursday night, earning a 3–1 victory over King University (25–21, 22–25, 27–25, 25–15).
The Railsplitters were sharp offensively, finishing with 55 kills on a .210 hitting percentage while adding 12 service aces. Megan Maier led the way with 14 kills and 10 digs, while Kaytlin Johnson added 13 kills, 18 digs, and three aces. Sarah Robbins chipped in nine kills, and Jazmine Starks posted seven kills on a .538 clip with two blocks. At setter, Carley Raleigh dished out 26 assists, and Lauren Pickett added 21, with both players also contributing from the service line. Libero Lauren Jacob anchored the defense with a team-high 30 digs and two aces
After dropping a tight second set, LMU responded with resilience, pulling out a 27–25 thriller in the third before cruising to a dominant 25–15 win in the fourth. The Railsplitters controlled the net down the stretch and used a balanced attack to seal their second home victory this week.
The win pushes LMU to 6–5 overall and keeps them unbeaten inside Mary Mars Gym this season. The Railsplitters thrived in front of a packed and energetic home crowd, using the atmosphere to power through key moments. They will now turn their attention back to South Atlantic Conference play tomorrow, traveling to Mars Hill for a 6 p.m. first serve on Friday, September 19.
