Harrogate, TN – After a strong start to the season, Lincoln Memorial Men's and Women's Cross Country returns for its second meet of the season this Saturday, September 20th with the Bulldog Stampede. The race begins at 8 a.m. and is set to be hosted at the Wingate Cross Country Facility by Wingate University.  

Both teams are coming off a top three finish to open the season, with the women finishing second in the Catawba Fleet Feet Invitational while the men placed third in the same race. The women's team was led by Weslyn McIntosh, who placed ninth in the 5k with a time of 20:08.8. For the men, Jaxson Branham came in third in the 8k at 26:50.2, placing just 10 seconds back of the race winner. The men's side also saw Luis Boerkey finish in the top 10 with a time of 27:44.0, as three Splitters earned a placement in the top 15.  

Saturday's meet marks the first time since 2021 that either team has raced at Wingate. The Women finished in 11th in the 2021 NCAA Southeast Regional, while the men last ran the course coming in 13th in the 2019 NCAA Southeast Regional.  

Ahead of the race, coach Jeff Kavalunas said "This week's competition is an opportunity to run the same course as the region championships in November. A chance to get a feel for it, become familiar with it, and also put together a better race plan for the region meet. We are going into it and looking to build off the good start and see some other conference and region schools."  

The meet will begin at 8 a.m. with the women's 5k, and continues with the men's 7k at 8:30 a.m. The link to the live results page can be found below.
