Harrogate, TN - Two days after battling with the Wingate Bulldogs in the first home contest of the season, the Lincoln Memorial field hockey team once again takes to the road on Sunday for a match up with the Barton Bulldogs. Barton is a new addition to the conference for field hockey. This will be the first meeting between the two teams all-time. Lincoln Memorial has been battle-tested this season, playing two top-10 teams in division II and a division I opponent, all on the road. The Railsplitters have wins over Maryville University and American International, amassing a 2-4 record on the season with an 0-1 mark in conference play. The Bulldogs have yet to win a game, or score a single goal, falling in all four of their contests on the season, entering the contest 0-4.
Although Barton is a conference opponent, the game will be considered a non-conference contest, just as the prior game was against Wingate. However, Lincoln Memorial will play both Wingate and Barton again later in the season in conference action.
The Railsplitters and Bulldogs are slated to begin at 2 PM on Sunday in Wilson, NC.
