Harrogate, TN – The Lincoln Memorial Men's Tennis team competed in the LMU Invitational on Saturday, hosting Lee University, Tusculum University, and UVA-Wise in their second scrimmage of the fall season.
The Railsplitters started the day strong in doubles play, as Patricio Garcia and Mathias Roy went 3-0 against competition from UVA-Wise. The team ofKonrad Fischer and Jakub Hrasek would also finish the day undefeated in three doubles matches, with two wins over Wise and another over Tusculum. Alexandru Rares Giurea and Hugo Ruiz Espejo would be the third team from the Splitters to claim multiple wins on the day, defeating Tusculum and UVA-Wise. In total, all LMU doubles teams earned at least one win on the day.
In singles competition, five Splitters earned wins. Giurea earned a win out of the first singles spot in three sets against an opponent from Lee, while Radu Florea earned a win over Lee in two sets out of the second position. Roy, Fisher, and Hrasek would all earn singles wins over Wise, with Fisher and Hrasek's wins coming in straight sets.
The Railsplitters will compete in their third fall tournament from September 24th to September 27th, traveling to Sumter, South Carolina for the ITA Regionals.
