Men's Soccer Faces Tampa Wednesday

Columbus, GA - The Lincoln Memorial men's soccer team wil travel to Columbus, GA or a neutral site match up against the University of Tampa Spartsns Wednesday afternoon at 2 pm. 

The midweek meeting will be the first time in series history that the two teams will be facing each other. 

The Railsplitters are coming off a 3-2 comeback win over #13 Catawba on September 20th. Gian-Carlo Kama scored the first goal in the 29th minute, assisted by Thomas Chao, then Hays Adams scored the second goal in the 38th minute which was assisted by Ronan O'Mahony Blondel. In the second half in the 48th minute, Kama scored his second goal of the match, assisted by O'Mahony Blondel. Kama's performance in the Catawba match earned himself the South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors. 

Currently, Kama is the team-leader in points with six, accounting for three goals, followed by O'Mahony Blondel with four, which includes four assists.  Kama and Enrique Martin are both leading the team in shots with 11 each, while Kama is leading in shots on goal with seven. Goalkeeper Daniel Benedek Miklosi has tallied 13 saves for a 68.4 save percentage. 

O'Mahony Blondel is 1st in the South Atlantic Conference in assists per game (0.80), total assists (4), and 7th in total points (4). Kama is 4th in goals per game (0.60), 2nd in shot accuracy (68.4%), 4th in shots on goal per game (1.40), 2nd in total goals (3), and 2nd in total points (6). Benedek Milkosi is 3rd in shutouts (1) and 5th in total saves (13). Thomas Chao is 4th in total assists (2) and 6th in assists per game (0.40). 

Nationally, O'Mahony Blondel is 9th in assists per game and 8th in total assists. 

As a team, Lincoln Memorial is 4th in the SAC in assists per game (1.40), 4th in points per game (3.80), 3rd in total assists (7), 4th in total goals (6), and 4th in total points (19). 

The Spartans are coming off of a 1-0 win against Embry-Riddle on September 20th. 

LMU is entering Wednesday with a 2-3 overall record and a 2-0 SAC record. In the South Atlantic Conference standings, Lincoln Memorial is currently sitting in first place with a 2-0 conference record.

The Spartans are entering the midweek match up with a 4-1 overall record and a 1-0 conference record. Tampa is currently tied for first place in the Sunshine State Conference standings, and they were ranked #12 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Poll that was released on September 16th.
