Sumter, SC - The Lincoln Memorial Men's Tennis team spent the weekend competing in the ITA Southeast Regional Championships, hosted in Sumter, SC by the University of North Georgia. The men's team sent six athletes to compete in the championships. 

In the doubles draws, the team of Hugo Ruiz Espejo and Alexandru Rares Giurea competed in the A draw for men's doubles along with Sergio Sebastian Aranzeta Boneta and Victor Bourguignon. Ruiz Espejo and Giurea would open play against a team from the University of North Georgia, where they would fall 2-8. Aranzeta Boneta and Bourguignon faced a doubles team from Columbus State University, falling 5-8.  

Five Railsplitters competed in singles competition split over two draws in the tournament. In the A draw for singles, Giurea would make it to the third-round of the tournament as the 16th seeded men's player, defeating an opponent from Lander University in the opening round in three sets before taking three sets against competition from North Georgia.  

Radu Florea took down his opponent from Francis Marion in straight sets in the first round of the consolation bracket. Kai Miyatake was the third Railsplitter to compete in the singles A draw.  

In the second draw for men's singles, Bourguignon defeated his opponent from Francis Marion University in the opening round in straight sets before taking his second-round opponent to three sets. Aranzeta Boneta would take his opening round opponent to a third set as well before defeating his first-round foe in the consolation bracket from Emmanuel College.  

The Railsplitters will face their final fall opponent as they compete in the Tusculum Invitational starting October 10 and running through the 12th.
