Men's basketball seeks to extend home winning streak to seven games

Harrogate, TN — The Lincoln Memorial University men's basketball team returns to Tex Turner Arena on Saturday, Jan. 17, to host South Atlantic Conference opponent Coker, seeking to extend its home winning streak to seven games. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 PM. 

Lincoln Memorial enters the match up with a 9-6 overall record and a 5-4 mark in conference action. The Railsplitters have been competitive throughout the SAC slate and will look to build momentum against a Coker squad that comes to Harrogate with a 1-14 overall record and an 0-9 conference mark.

Offensively, Lincoln Memorial has showcased a balanced and efficient attack through the first 15 games of the season, averaging 81.3 points per contest while shooting 47.8 percent from the field as a team. EJ Smith leads the scoring effort at 10.3 points per game, providing consistent production while shooting better than 45 percent. Jayden Spearman follows closely at 10.1 points per game and has been a key perimeter threat, knocking down 37 three-pointers at a 38.1 percent rate. Nate Mims has added 9.9 points per game, while Walter Campbell is contributing 9.7 points per contest and leads the team in shooting efficiency at 65 percent from the floor.

The Railsplitters have also been strong inside, with Yassin Hussein averaging 8.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while converting 58 percent of his attempts. Drew Lewis and Armon Jarrard provide additional scoring depth at 7.6 and 7.4 points per game, respectively, helping Lincoln Memorial maintain multiple scoring options throughout the rotation.

On the boards, Lincoln Memorial is averaging 34.0 rebounds per game, outpacing its opponents and creating extra possessions.
