Men's basketball extends home winning streak to seven games

Harrogate, TN -- Lincoln Memorial continued its strong play at home on Saturday, Jan. 17, claiming an 84-72 victory over the Coker Cobras inside Tex Turner Arena for its seventh straight home win. The Railsplitters showcased unselfish offense and balanced scoring, pulling away late to secure the win in Harrogate.

Lincoln Memorial placed five players in double figures, led by Jayden Spearman with 19 points off the bench. Nate Mims followed with 18 points on an efficient 7-for-11 shooting performance, including three made three-pointers. Ashton Pennamon and Walter Campbell each scored 10 points, while EJ Smith rounded out the group with 10 points in just 14 minutes of action.

Ball movement was a key factor in the win, as Lincoln Memorial assisted on 14 of its 29 made field goals. The Railsplitters consistently found the open man, leading to high-quality looks throughout the contest. Pennamon and Armon Jarrard helped facilitate the offense, combining for five assists, while multiple players contributed to keeping the ball moving.

Lincoln Memorial shot 47.4 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc, while converting 84.6 percent from the free throw line. The Railsplitters controlled the interior with 40 points in the paint and added 12 fast break points. LMU also capitalized on turnovers, scoring 16 points off 17 Coker miscues, and received 15 points from its bench.

Defensively, the Railsplitters were active all afternoon, recording 15 steals and six blocks, limiting Coker's opportunities and preventing sustained runs. The contest featured just one tie and one lead change, as Lincoln Memorial maintained control for most of the afternoon to close out another home victory.
