Women's Basketball Back In Conference Play Against Tusculum On Wednesday

Harrogate, TN – Lincoln Memorial women's basketball is back in conference action on Wednesday, January 7th as they host the Tusculum Pioneers at 5:30 pm in Tex Turner Arena.

The midweek contest will be the 57th all-time meeting between the Lady Railsplitters and the Pioneers, with Lincoln Memorial just barely falling behind 27-29. The most recent game between the two teams took place last season in January of 2025 at Tusculum, where LMU defeated TU 79-70. The last time that The Lady Railsplitters was victorious over Tusculum at home was in January of 2024 with a 87-57 win. 

Lincoln Memorial is coming off a 5-game win streak, with their most recent victory being a 66-54 victory over non conference opponent UNC Pembroke on December 31st. Kamil Collier led the team in both scoring and on the boards as she secured her seventh double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 rebounds. 

Currently, Collier is leading the team in scoring average with 16.5 points per game, with Lexi Patty and Alexa Smiddy also averaging double-digits with 14 and 13.5 points per game, respectively. Collier is also the team-leader in rebounding averge with 10.6 rebounds per game. 

In the South Atlantic Conference, Collier is leading in double-doubles (7), fifth in field goal percentage (49%), eighth in field goals made (70), seventh in free throw percentage (80.9%), eighth in total points (182), seventh in points per game (16.5), third in total rebounds (117), second in rebounds per game (10.6), second in defensive rebounds per game (7.8), and fourth in offensive rebounds per game (2.8). Smiddy is second in the conference in assist/turnover ratio (2.2), third in total assists (44), second in assists per game (4), ninth in free throw percentage (79.6%), fifth in three point percentage (35.5%), seventh in three pointers made (22), and sixth in three pointers made per game (2). Patty is ninth in the SAC in blocks per game (0.9), sixth in field goal percentage (47.3%), and eighth in defensive rebounds per game (4.9). Asia Barr is sixth in the conference in total steals (28), fourth in stealsper game (2.35), eighth in three pointers made (19), and eighth in three pointers made per game (1.73). 

Nationally, Collier is ninth in double-doubles, 16th in rebounds per game, and 14th in defensive rebounds per game. Smiddy is 18th in assist/turnover ratio.

As a team, Lincoln Memorial is second in the SAC in assist/turnover ratio (1.1), third in assists per game (14.6), third in field goal percentage (41.7), fourth in field goal percentage defense (37.2), fourth in free throws made per game (13.91), fourth in rebound margin (2.6), third in scoring defense (58), first in scoring margin (18.5), second in scoring  offense (76.5), fourth in steals per game (11), first in three point percentage (34.3), third in three point percentage defense (26.1), first in three pointers per game (9.5), fifth in turnovers forced per game (20.27), and second in winning percentage (90.9).

Tusculum is coming off of a 75-71 overtime loss against Newberry on January 3rd.

Leaders for the Pioneers include Abbi Douglas (#11), who is averaging 11.1 points per game and Dora Van Rijs (#15) who is leading in rebounding average with 9.4 per game. 

Lincoln Memorial is entering Wednesday with a 10-1 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in conference play. LMU is tied for second place in the SAC standings with Carson-Newman.

Tusculum is going into the midweek with an 1-11 overall record and conference record of 1-5. The Pioneers are tied for ninth place in the SAC standings with Anderson, Mars Hill, and Emory & Henry.
