Harrogate, TN -- The Lincoln Memorial University men's basketball team hits the road on Saturday, Jan. 10, traveling to Newberry, S.C. for a South Atlantic Conference match up with the Newberry Wolves. Tip-off is set for 4 PM.

The Railsplitters enter the contest with an 8-5 overall record and a 4-3 mark in league play, continuing to build momentum midway through the conference schedule. Newberry comes in at 6-7 overall and 2-5 in SAC action, looking to protect its home floor.

Lincoln Memorial has showcased balance and efficiency throughout the season, ranking among the conference leaders in scoring at nearly 83 points per game while shooting 48.2 percent from the field as a team. The Railsplitters have also controlled the glass, averaging 34.3 rebounds per contest, and have been active defensively with 147 steals and 52 blocks through 13 games.

EJ Smith has been one of LMU's most consistent offensive threats, averaging 10.2 points per game while shooting 45.2 percent from the floor and over 91 percent at the free-throw line. Nate Mims has matched that production with 10.0 points per contest, adding 3.8 rebounds per game and leading the team in assists, while also shooting 47.3 percent from the field.

Jayden Spearman provides a perimeter spark, averaging 10.0 points per game and knocking down 38.8 percent of his three-point attempts. Walter Campbell has been highly efficient inside, shooting 62.3 percent from the floor while averaging 9.4 points and a team-best 4.9 rebounds per game. Yassin Hussein has also been a force in the paint, contributing 8.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per outing.

Depth has been another strength for the Railsplitters, with multiple players averaging between six and eight points per game, allowing LMU to maintain pressure on both ends of the floor throughout the full 40 minutes.

Friday's match up marks an important conference road test as Lincoln Memorial looks to continue its push up the SAC standings.
