Lincoln Memorial to induct five into Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2026

Harrogate, TN - Lincoln Memorial University is set to induct five Railsplitter Alumni into the Hall of Fame class of 2026.  Emanuel Terry, the late Dorian Pinson, Megan Pittman, Lise Malherbe Swanepoel, and Ethan Elliott will etch their names into history in a ceremony on Saturday, October 10 inside the Tex Turner Arena.

Emanuel Terry
Emanuel Terry played for the Railsplitters from 2014-18.  He finished his career with 1,157 points which is currently in the top 20 in LMU history.  Terry made 479 career FG (top 15 in LMU history), his career FG% of 70.4% is still the career record at LMU.  Emanuel's 854 career rebounds are top five in LMU history, his 598 career defensive rebounds are currently 2nd in LMU history, and his 256 career offensive rebounds are top five in LMU history.  At the time of his induction, Terry holds the LMU record for career blocks with 228.

Seasonally, Terry holds the top three spots for field goal percentage in a season.  He is the only LMU player to shoot over 70% in a season (71.7% in 2015-16, 72.6% in 2016-17, 71.1% in 2017-18).  Terry had 319 rebounds in 2017-18 (still top ten in LMU history), the 228 defensive rebounds that season is top five in LMU history.  Terry has also three of the top ten blocks in a season (77 in 2015-16, 68 in 2017-18, and 51 in 2016-17).  The 77 blocks are 2nd most in a season.

Emanuel is tied for 4th all-time with most rebounds in a game with 21 at Lees-McRae in 2017.    He had 11 games in which he had at least five blocks with the most (8) coming against Newberry in 2016 (tied for 2nd all-time).  Terry also had three games in which he shot at least 90% from the field.  His best shooting percentage was 90.9% vs Lenoir-Rhyne in 2016 which is still tied for 6th best at LMU.

Terry's senior season is one of the most decorated in LMU history.  He was named the 2018 SAC Player of the Year, to the 2018 SAC Tournament Team, the 2018 NABC All-Southeast Region 1st Team, 2018 D2CCA Southeast Regional Player of the Year, 2018 D2CCA All-American, 2018 Basketball Times All-American, 2018 NABC All-American, 2018 DII Bulletin All-American, 2018 SAC Male Athlete of the Year and the 2018 Bevo Francis Award Winner.

Dorian Pinson
Dorian Pinson played for the Railsplitters from 2014-2018.  Pinson finished with 1,335 points which is still in the top 20 in LMU history.  Pinson made 499 career FG (top ten in LMU history), 899 career FG attempts (top 15 in LMU history), with a field goal percentage of 55.5% (top 15 in LMU history).  He made 272 free throws (top ten in LMU history) on 418 attempts (top ten in LMU history). Pinson made his mark in rebounding with 900 career rebounds which is third all-time at LMU.  Of those 900, 719 were defensive rebounds which is currently the school record for most in a career.  Pinson had 421 career assists (top ten in LMU history), 73 blocks (top 15 in LMU history), and 180 steals (top ten in LMU history).

Seasonally, Pinson pulled in 318 rebounds during the 2017-18 season which at the time of his induction is in the top 15 in LMU history, 256 of which were defensive rebounds (3rd in LMU history).  He had 205 defensive rebounds in 2015-16 ranks in the top 15 in LMU history.  Pinson had 153 assists in the 2015-16 season which is top 15 in LMU history and 141 assists in 2017-18 which is still top 20 in LMU history.

Dorian is one of only nine players to have at least 20 rebounds in a game in LMU history.  He has 11 assists vs Carson-Newman in 2017 which is tied for 11th but three off the school record.  Pinson had six steals vs Coker in 2018 and again vs Queens in 2018 which is both tied for 7th. 

Pinson during his time here was a three-time All-SAC athlete (2015-16 honorable mention, 2016-17 2nd Team, and 2017-18 1st Team), a member of the 2014-15 All-SAC Freshman team, the 2018 SAC Tournament MVP, a 2018 DII Bulletin All-American honorable mention, a 2018 D2CCA All-Southeast Region 1st team, and a 2018 NABC All-Southeast Region 1st team.

Megan Pittman
Megan Pittman played in 91 games starting in all but two from 2014-17 scoring over 1,100 points which is currently in the top 20 in LMU history.  She finished 403-861 from the field, both numbers are in the top 25 in LMU history.  Pittman finished with an 81.0% free throw percentage which at the time was 4th best at the time, and currently remains ranked in the top ten.  She finished with 831 career rebounds which is third most in a career.

Megan finished three different seasons with over 240 rebounds, highlighted by the 299 she pulled in in 2016-17 which is fourth most in a season.  She grabbed 120 offensive rebounds in 2016-17 which is third most in a season and 109 in 2015-16 which is fifth most.

Pittman was on the 2016-17 team that won the South Atlantic Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the second time in school history before falling in the Southeast Region finals. 

Megan on the court was named to the 2015-16 All-SAC 1st Team and 2016-17 All-SAC 1st Team. Pittman was named the 2016-17 SAC Player of the Year.  She was also named to the D2CCA/Daktronics All-Region team in 2015-16 (2nd Team) and 2016-17 (1st Team). Academically, she was LMU's first women's basketball player to be named as to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team in 2017 and is still the only women's basketball player in LMU history to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American, an accomplishment she earned in 2016-17.

Lise Malherbe Swanepoel
Lise Malherbe Swanepoel golfed for Lincoln Memorial from 2015-2019. In Malherbe's freshman year, she participated in all ten events, accounting for an 81.86 scoring average.  She notched three top five finishes with a .618 win-loss percentage and opened her career with back-to-back top five finishes, tying for fifth place in the Anderson Invitational and a fourth-place run at the Etowah Intercollegiate.  Malherbe would tie for fourth place at the Coker Women's Invitational and then backed it up by carding a season-low round of 74 to open the SAC Championship eventually tying for 29th place in that event.

Malherbe opened her sophomore season where she left off her freshman season, she would open at the Anderson Invitational with a third-place finish.  Three more top 20 finishes in the fall of 2016 would set Malherbe up for a stretch run in the spring as she would finish her sophomore season tied for 5th in the SAC Championship which would earn her All-SAC honors.  She ended the season with a 78.79 scoring average over 24 rounds and would later add the title of WGCA All-American Scholar.

Lise's junior year once again saw her start with a strong performance at the Anderson Invitational finishing third place before going to the Cumberland Trail Classic the next week and winning top overall honors.  It would not be her only individual victory in the season as she would also win the Low Country Invitational.  She was also second in the Women's Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate and third in the Sunoco Campbell Oil Classic.  Malherbe finished her junior season with a 76.79 scoring average.  Malherbe was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team and a WGCA All-American Scholar for the second straight season.

Malherbe's senior season started strong and continued throughout.  A first-place finish at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate and LeeAnn Noble Memorial in back-to-back tournaments set the tone for the season.  She would finish no worse than 12th the rest of the regular season, finishing in the top five four times before taking ninth in the SAC Championship.  Her efforts that season earned her a bid to the NCAA South Super Regional, just the third Lady Railsplitter golfer to have such an honor.  She would finish her senior season with a scoring average of 75.13 which is the best by a LMU women's golfer.  She would then be named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Google Cloud Academic All-District, WGCA All-American Scholar, and would be one of the nominees for NCAA Woman of the Year.

Lise finished her career with a scoring average of 78.1 and was the valedictorian of the 2018 Fall Commencement graduating class.

Ethan Elliott
Ethan Elliott played for LMU from 2016-2019 going 37-10 on the mound.  Elliott's 37 wins is the most career wins in LMU history.  Elliott started 54 games (1st in LMU history), pitching 358.1 innings (1st in LMU history), 402 strikeouts (1st in LMU history), and had a career ERA of 3.01 (1st in LMU history).  During his time in Harrogate, the Railsplitters won the SAC Tournament Championship in 2017 and again in 2018.  They would also advance to three NCAA Regional Tournaments.

Elliott's 2.23 ERA in 2019 is 6th in LMU history for lowest in a season. The year before in 2018 he had a 2.95 ERA which is still 10th in LMU history.   Elliott is one of only two pitchers in LMU history to win at least 10 games in a season joining Scot Shields.  Elliott did it three times including 12 wins in 2019 which is the most by a pitcher in a season in LMU history.  He is tied for 4th all-time in LMU history in most games started.  His 100.2 innings pitched in 2018 are the 2nd most in a season in LMU history.  He is 1st and 2nd in LMU history for most strikeouts in a season (134 in 2019, 124 in 2018).

Elliott is 2nd and 3rd for most strikeouts in a game in LMU history.  He had 17 at Anderson in 2019 and 16 at Tusculum in 2019.

Elliott was named All-SAC First Team in 2016, 2018, and 2019.  He was named the 2016 SAC Freshman of the Year, the 2018 SAC Pitcher of the Year, and the 2018 SAC Tournament MVP.  He was also a Daktronics/D2CCA First Team All-Region in 2016, 2018, 2019, a NCBWA All-Region Second Team in 2016 and 2018 and First Team in 2019, an ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team in 2016 and First Team in 2018 and 2019.  Elliott was also a NCBWA All-American and ABCA/Rawlings All-American in 2019.  Ethan remains the only Railsplitter in the history of LMU baseball to be named NCAA Division II Pitcher of the Year, an honor he won in 2019.
