Harrogate, TN -- The Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball team closed out a dominant regular season performance against Coker University with a sweeping 3-0 victory on Senior Day. Prior to the opening serve, the Railsplitters honored seniors Lauren Pickett and Megan Maier for their contributions to the program. The victory completed a regular season sweep of the Cobras, as Lincoln Memorial captured both matchups between the teams this year in straight sets.
The Railsplitters set the tone early in the opening frame, securing a 25-17 set victory. Pickett orchestrated the offense effectively from the start, setting up Sarah Robbins for the match's first kill and later connecting with Jazmine Starks and Kaytlin Johnson to keep the pressure on the opposition. After the visiting team rallied to tie the score mid-set, set contributions from Aaliyah Rodgers and Finley Sparks helped the home squad regain control. A strong late-set serving run by Maier pushed the lead out of reach, forcing errors before Pickett set up Johnson for the set-clinching kill.
Lincoln Memorial carried that momentum into the second set, controlling the action for a 25-13 win. The Railsplitters established an early advantage behind consecutive set assists from Pickett to Johnson, along with additional offensive finishing from Robbins. Jana Petkovic delivered defensive efficiency at the net with a solo block, while Addison Addair came off the bench late to distribute consecutive assists to Johnson and Robbins. Starks added a key kill down the stretch before Johnson capped off the set with another sharp finish off an assist from Lauren Jacob.
The host squad sealed the match sweep by pulling away for a 25-16 decision in the third frame. Early offense from Robbins, Starks, and Annabelle Clair kept the Railsplitters in front, complimented by an ace from Petkovic. Laney Inman and Brecken Windle added quality minutes late in the final frame, while Clair and Johnson dominated near the net to force opponent errors. Emersyn Blackburn delivered a service ace to bring up match point, and Petkovic found Inman for the final kill to secure the victory.
