Harrogate, TN -- Tuesday was the beginning of a five-game road slate for Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball. Traveling to Emory, VA on Tuesday, the Railsplitters made quick work of the Wasps, sweeping Emory & Henry for the second time this season to complete the series sweep. Lincoln Memorial will now look to parlay that momentum into back-to-back road wins. The Railsplitters travel to Mars Hill, NC Friday to take on the Lions at 6 PM before following up with a road trip to Greeneville, TN to take on the Tusculum Pioneers at 2 PM.
Lincoln Memorial battled with both Tusculum and Mars Hill early in the season, dropping five-set matches 3-2 in early September to each squad. The revenge-minded Railsplitters are finding their rhythm at this juncture of the season, claiming six of their last eight matches, including three of their last four. Throughout that span, Lincoln Memorial holds an 18-10 set advantage.
Kaytlin Johnson continues to pace the offense, accumulating 225.5 points on the season with a team-leading 198 kills, good for 3.3 kills per set, to go along with 3.76 points per set and 18 service aces. She also contributes significantly to the defense with 165 digs on the season, good for second on the team.
Georgia Dobson continues to be one of the best hitters in the nation, posting a .474 hitting percentage, accruing 142 points on the season with 109 kills to accompany 18 service aces.
Jazmine Starks remains a force at the net. Third on the team in scoring with 136 total points, she also leads the defensive effort with 54 blocks on the season. She is fourth on the team in kills, with 105 on the year.
Lauren Jacob leads the team in digs from the libero position with 233, good for 3.95 digs per set while posting a 94% reception percentage.
Lauren Pickett facilitates the offense, tallying a staggering 467 assists, good for 8.0 assists per set. She also leads the team in service aces with 19.
Finley Sparks contributes significantly to both sides of the ball as well with 121 total points on the season with 108 kills. She is fourth on the team in digs as well, with 116 on the season thus far.
First serve for Friday's match at Mars Hill is slated for 6 PM with Saturday's action at Tusculum to begin at 2 PM.
