Harrogate, TN - Lincoln Memorial women's lacrosse falls to the #24 University of Alabama-Huntsville Chargers Tuesday afternoon 1-16.
Alabama Huntsville got things started as they scored their first goal of the match with 14:12 remaining. 12 minutes then goes by without anything added to the scoreboard; UAH then adds their second goal with 2:56 remaining, followed by another with 1:51 remaining. The Railsplitters get their first goal in the books as

Ruby Copeland assist with 38 seconds remaining, making the score 3-1 going into the second quarter.Â

The second quarter was all UAH, as they scored two goals in the first five minutes, with the first with 13:36 remaining and the second with 10:40 remaining. Five minutes then went by, and the Chargers scored five back-to-back goals: the first with 4:58 remaining, the second with 4:11 remaining, the third with 3:27 remaining, the fourth with 28 seconds remaining, and the last goal with six seconds remaining. UAH went into halftime with the 10-1 advantage.Â

The third was much like the second, as Alabama-Huntsville recorded five more goals to extend the lead to 15-1 at the end of the third: with 14:02, 11:11, 9:30, 6:52, and 59 seconds remaining.Â
There was only one goal scored in the fourth quarter and that was by a Charger with 6:12 remaining, giving UAH the 16-1 victory.Â
Jaynes had the lone goal for the Railsplitters and Copeland earned the assist.
Josie Tinnerello led the team in shots with six, and Jaynes was the team-leader in shots on goal with two.
Mary Kostus led in ground balls with four, and Kostus and Tinnerello led in caused turnovers with two each.
Emily Mirabile and
Jovie Favati each had time in goal, with Mirabile recording seven saves and Favati registering two.Â
As a team, Lincoln Memorial recorded 13 shots, with three being on goal, nine saves, nine successful clears, and seven draw controls.Â
With the loss, LMU drops to 2-2 overall and UAH improves to 2-2 overall.Â
The Railsplitters will h have another game at home this week as they host Thomas More on Saturday, February 21st against Thoams More at 5 pm.Â
