Hartsville, SC – Lincoln Memorial women's basketball takes the season sweep over the #12 Coker Cobras 56-48.
The Lady Railsplitters came out firing in the first, outscoring Coker 20-7, with
Lexi Patty leading the team with nine points. Along with outscoring, LMU out rebounded the Cobras 11-8.
The second quarter was reversed, with the Cobras adding 18 to their score and LMU scoring seven. Despite being outscored in the second, Lincoln Memorial had the 27-25 advantage going into halftime.
Quarter three was a battle, as Lincoln Memorial came out on top by one point, as LMU scoring 14 and Coker recording 13.
Asia Barr and
Alexa Smiddy led this quarter with five points each, and the Lady Railsplitters led going into the final frame 41-38.
Lincoln Memorial solidified their lead in the fourth, as LMU added 15 points to the scoreboard and Coker only added 10. With Collier and Smiddy each scored six points, the Lady Railsplitters take the 56-48 win.
Collier led the team in scoring with 18 points and nine rebounds.
Asia Barr and Patty followed also with double figures with 12 points each, and Smiddy also added double-digits with 11 points and five rebounds.
Keiara Anderson rounded out the scoring with three points and seven rebounds.
As a team, Lincoln Memorial went 21/49 from the field, 7/20 from the three, and 77.8% from the free throw line.
LMU secured 32 rebounds, scored 28 points in the paint, 16 points off of Cobra turnovers, four second chance points, and three fast break points.
With the win, Lincoln Memorial improves to 22-3 overall and 17-3 in conference play and Coker drops to 20-6 overall and 15-5 in the SAC.
The team will play their last road game of the regular season as they travel to Wise, VA to face UVA Wise on Wednesday, February 25
th at 5:30 pm.
