Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial women's lacrosse team will begin their 2026 season with a big test against defending national champions the #1 University of Tampa Spartans Friday evening. 

Friday's contest will be the third overall meeting between the two teams, and the second in Harrogate. The first match up in Harrogate was last season on February 27, 2025, and the Railsplitters fell to the Spartans 4-27. 

Lincoln Memorial finished last season with a 8-9 overall record and a 5-6 conference record, just missing the mark to the SAC Tournament. 

LMU was selected to finish sixth in the South Atlantic Conference Preseason poll this season, along with senior Josie Tinnerello being named to the SAC preseason all-conference team. 

UTampa was voted to finish first in the Sunshine State Conference Preseason Poll. Leaders for the Spartans include Isabella Avila (#20), Savvy Barbosa (#60), and Peyton Howell (#12), who were all selected as USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-Americans.
