HARROGATE, TN – Lincoln Memorial men's volleyball hits the road for a quick two-match stretch this week, traveling to King University on Tuesday, March 24 at 6 p.m. in Bristol, Tenn., before heading to Lees-McRae College on Wednesday, March 25 at 6 p.m. in Banner Elk, N.C.
LMU enters the week at 11-6 and has continued to put together a steady, balanced season. The Railsplitters are hitting .266 as a team with 12.2 kills per set and 11.2 assists per set, while averaging 9.5 digs per set and 1.9 blocks per set. Lincoln Memorial has also been consistent from the service line with 67 aces on the year.
Individually, Axel van Baars leads LMU with 151 kills and a team-best 19 aces, while Johan Negron has added 127 kills. Georgios Armaos (53 kills) and Zadyn LaBreche (58 kills) have been key scoring options, with Armaos hitting .327 and LaBreche adding four aces. At the net, Oisin Walsh anchors the block with 48 total blocks, and Relja Milosavljevic has added 40. Setter Inbar Shachar has directed the offense with 342 assists, while Zachary Zian leads the back row with 110 digs.
Tuesday's match at King renews a familiar rivalry. The Railsplitters have won 12 straight in the series and earned a 3-0 win over the Tornado in the season opener back on Jan. 9. King enters the week at 4-15 (0-9) and has leaned on heavy volume and defense, averaging 11.0 digs per set while trying to find consistency offensively.
Wednesday's trip to Lees-McRae brings another familiar opponent and another tough road environment. The Bobcats are 10-10 (5-4) and have been aggressive from the service line, averaging 1.5 aces per set with 109 total aces this season. LMU has won eight straight against Lees-McRae and owns an 8-1 edge in the all-time series, including a 3-0 win in the most recent meeting on April 8, 2025.
