Augusta, GA – The Lincoln Memorial Women's Tennis team ended their week with a tough road matchup against Augusta University, as the Jaguars defeated the Railsplitters 4-0 in non-conference play. The loss moves the Railsplitters to 9-7.
Lincoln Memorial would take one of the three doubles matches, as the third pairing of Lucie Palud and Rosalie Carrier-Dulac rolled to their first win together of the season, as the novel pairing took home a 6-4 victory. The second pairing of Alexandra Ortiz and Mar Garcia Bucosa would force an extra point from the Jaguars as well in their match.
In the fourth singles match, Carrier-Dulac would claim the first set from her opponent, as a 7-5 victory would give her a 1-0 set advantage before the second set was left unfinished. Ortiz would have a similar outcome, taking the first set of the fifth singles draw by a dominant 6-2 fashion before she and her opponent were unable to finish the match.
The Splitters return to action on Wednesday, facing off against Flagler College in St. Augustine at 2:00 p.m.
