St. Augustine, FL – In their first match of their three this week, the Lincoln Memorial Women's Tennis team dropped their road matchup against a ranked Flagler squad, falling 0-7 to the Saints. The loss puts the Railsplitters at 9-8 on the season.
The Railsplitters would come close to taking the doubles point from the Saints, as the second doubles pairing of Alexandra Ortiz and Mar Garcia Bucosa earned their fifth win of the season. The pair faced a tough battle early, but were able to fend off a late deficit to take home the 6-4 win.
Adriana Pellizzari and Natalia Reimer would put up a tough fight in the first doubles set but would fall by a single point after a back-and-forth contest, dropping the match 6-7.
In singles competition, Mia Rodriguez would get the Railsplitters a win in the first set of the third pairing, turning an early lead into a 6-3 set victory.
The Railsplitters head to Lakeland tomorrow to take on sixth-ranked Florida Southern at 2:00 p.m.
