Garcia Bucosa Takes One from No. 6 Florida Southern

Lakeland, FL – In their second ranked match in as many days, the Lincoln Memorial Women's Tennis team lost on the road to sixth-ranked Florida Southern College.

The Railsplitters loss drops the team to 9-9 this year, as the Moccasins defeated the Railsplitters 1-6.

Despite going 0-2 in the doubles round, the Railsplitters were able to keep the first and third pair close, as Adriana Pellizzari and Natalia Reimer netted three points in the first doubles set, while the pairing of Lucie Palud and Rosalie Carrier-Dulac drew their opponents.

Alexandra Ortiz would keep the fifth singles match tight, as a close first set ended with Ortiz forcing an extra point on her opponent, falling in the set 5-7.

Mar Garcia Bucosa would net the Railsplitters their lone point of the match, as in the sixth singles match, Garcia Bucosa would play a full professional point set to come away with a 9-7 victory. After falling behind early in the lone set, Garcia Bucosa staged a comeback to take the nine points needed and securing a win, her fourth of the season.

Lincoln Memorial ends their spring break trip tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. when they face No. 18 Columbus State University on the road.
