Gabe Gray named South Atlantic Conference Baseball Player of the Week

Harrogate, TN -- Lincoln Memorial University freshman shortstop Gabe Gray has been named the South Atlantic Conference Baseball Player of the Week following a dominant stretch at the plate. The newcomer proved to be a vital offensive spark for the Railsplitters throughout the four-game period, showcasing a blend of power and consistency that helped lead the team to a conference series sweep last weekend.

Over the course of 16 at-bats, Gray compiled 12 hits and crossed the plate 10 times, delivering a high-impact performance from the shortstop position. His week was highlighted by several extra-base hits, including two doubles, two triples, and a home run. This display of power resulted in nine runs batted in, as he consistently found ways to drive in teammates and extend rallies.

In addition to his hitting prowess, Gray demonstrated great discipline and efficiency on the basepaths. He earned two walks and was hit by a pitch twice, contributing to a high on-base percentage, while also recording a stolen base. On the defensive side, he remained reliable in the field, finishing the week with four putouts and six assists. This recognition from the conference office marks a significant milestone in Gray's debut season as he continues to establish himself as a premier talent in the South Atlantic Conference.
