Women's Lacrosse Faces Lee On Thursday

Maryville, TN - Lincoln Memorial women's lacrosse play their only neutral site match of the season on Thursday as they go on the road to Maryville, TN to face the Lee University Flames at 5 pm. 

The midweek meeting will be the fifth all-time face off between the two programs, with the series tied at 2-2. The most recent competition between LMU and Lee was in February of 2024, where the Railsplitters fell to the Flames 10-16. The last time that Lincoln Memorial defeated Lee was in March of 2019 with a 18-6 victory. Thursday will be the first time that the two teams will play in Maryville.

Lincoln Memorial is coming off of a 14-13 win over Gannon on February 28th. Ryan Smith led in points with five for two goals and two assists, and goalkeeper Jovi Favati got the win with nine saves. 

Currently, Ruby Copeland is the team-leader in points with 18 with eight goals and a team-high 10 assists. Jaiden Jaynes and Josie Tinnerello are both leading in goals with 13 each. Mary Kostus is leading in both ground balls and caused turnovers with 18 adn 11, respectively, and Jaynes leads in draw controls with 26. Emily Mirabile has team-leading 30 saves on the season with a 39.5 save percentage.

In the South Atlantic Conference, Copeland is second in assists (10), fifth in assists per game (1.67), and eighth in points (18). Smith is seventh in the conference in assists (7) and 10th in points (16). Jaynes is third in draw controls per game (5.20) and seventh in goals (13). Tinnerello is seventh in goals (13) anf fifth in shots per game (6.33). Kostus is eighth in ground balls per game (3), and Mirabile is sixth in save percentage (39.5%), third in saves (30) and fifth in saves per game (5).

Nationally, Copeland is ninth in assists.

As a team, Lincoln Memorial is third in the SAC in assists per game (5.50).

Lee is coming off of a 25-0 win over Southern Wesleyan on February 27th. 

Leaders for the Flames include Taylor McGovern (#4), who leads in goals with 24, Noelle Harrington (#10), who leads in assists with 10, and Lily Tomczik (#17) who leads in caused turnovers with 12. 

LMU is going into Thursday with a 4-2 overall record, and Gannon is entering the match with a 3-4 overall record.
