Harrogate, TN - Lincoln Memorial women's lacrosse will open 2026 conference play on Saturday, March 7th as they host the Catawba Indians at 4 pm at LMU Lacrosse Complex.
The weekend meeting will be the 12th overall contest between the two teams, with the Railsplitters winning 6-5. The most recent match up between the two programs was last season in March of 2025, where LMU came out on top 16-3 at Catawba. The last time that Lincoln Memorial was victorious over Catawba in Harrogate was in March of 2024, where the score was 13-6 LMU.
Lincoln Memorial is coming off of a 12-14 loss against Lee on March 5th.
Briana Martinez and
Josie Tinnerello led in points with 5, with Martinez scoring three goals and two assists and Tinnerello adding five goals.
Currently,
Ruby Copeland is the team-leader in points with 22 with nine goals and a team-high 13 assists, and Tinnerello is leading in goals with 18.
Mary Kostus is leading in both ground balls and caused turnovers with 22 and 14, respectively, and
Jaiden Jaynes leads in draw controls with 26.
Emily Mirabile has team-leading 33 saves on the season with a 37.9 save percentage and
Jovie Favati has 29 saves with a 43.9 save percentage.
In the South Atlantic Conference, Copeland is second in assists (13), fourth in assists per game (1.86), and fourth in points (22). Smith is eighth in the conference in assists (8), and Tinnerello is fourth in goals (18), sixth in points (20), and fifth in shots per game (6.57). Kostus is eighth in caused turnovers per game (2) and seventh in ground balls per game (3.14). Mirabile is third in saves (33) and seventh in saves per game (4.71), and Favati is fourth in saves (29) and sixth in saves per game (4.83).
Nationally, Copeland is third in assist and Tinnerello is 20th in goals.
As a team, Lincoln Memorial is fourth in the SAC in assists per game (5.86).
Catawba is coming off of a 19-9 win over Shorter on February 28th.
Leaders for the Catawba Indians include Mary Sorvillo (#8), who leads in goals with eight, Abby Shuren (#11) who leads in assists with five, and Abby Adelsberger (#3) who leads in caused turnovers with six.
LMU is going into Saturday with a 4-3 overall record, and Catawba is entering the match with a 3-1 overall record. This will be the first conference match for both programs.
