St. Augustine, FL – The Lincoln Memorial Men's Tennis team took their first match of three in three days this week, traveling to Flagler College where the Railsplitters dropped a 4-0 contest to the third-ranked team in the nation.
With the loss, the Railsplitters record on the season falls to 12-6 and 3-4 on the road.
The Railsplitters picked up a win in the doubles bracket, as the third grouping of Radu Florea and Patricio Garcia fought a tough battle with the Saints third pair, but would end the day with a 7-5 victory, as the duo secured their first win together of the season in their first ever match together.
In singles play, Mathis Amsellem would draw his opponent in the second singles match. The first set was all Amsellem, as a 3-1 lead for Amsellem translated into a comfortable lead, never letting his opponent get within two after that to take home a 6-2 win in the first set.
Lincoln Memorial will stay in the Sunshine State for another ranked matchup tomorrow, facing off against No. 11 Florida Southern in Lakeland at 2:00 p.m.
