Harrogate, TN – It's one more on the road for the No. 24 Lincoln Memorial men's tennis team, as the Railsplitters head to Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday to close out the regular season.
LMU is coming off a convincing conference win, defeating Carson-Newman 4-1 on Thursday in Jefferson City, which improved their record to 14-8, 8-2 in conference play. Their conference record has the Splitters tied for third in South Atlantic Conference standings going into the final day of play, tied with Tusculum and a game behind Wingate at second.
The Railsplitters enter Saturday with Alexandru Rares Giurea leading the way in singles play, ranking 62nd in the ITA individual rankings with a 10-4 record. Victor Bourguignon and Kai Miyatake have posted similar results, with Bourguignon coming in at 12-5 this season and Miyatake having gone 11-3.
Ethan Hirons and Radu Florea have led the team in doubles competition, holding a record of 12-4 as a pairing including a 6-1 conference record. Bourguignon and SEB slot in with the second-most doubles wins, having gone 8-6 together this season.
Lenoir-Rhyne enters just behind the Railsplitters in the conference standings, as the Bears will enter at 7-3 in conference standings. The top eight teams in the conference standings will participate in the South Atlantic Conference championships which start next Thursday.
