Men's Tennis Earns First-Team Singles, Third-Team Doubles Honorees in Conference Awards

Rock Hill, S.C. - The South Atlantic Conference announced its postseason awards on Wednesday for the 2025-26 men's tennis season, with senior Alexandru Rares Giurea being named First-Team All-Singles while the duo of Victor Bourguignon and Sergio Sebastian Aranzeta Boneta were honored with Third-Team All-Doubles titles.

In the singles awards, Giurea notched his sixth conference postseason award of his career, earning consecutive First-Team All-Singles honorees and marking the fourth time he has been named to the All-SAC singles team.

Giurea played an important role in the Railsplitters record-setting season, going 10-5 in singles play mostly from the top position, as Giurea finished the regular season ranked 63rd in individual play by the ITA.

On the doubles court, Bourguignon and Aranzeta Boneta delivered eight wins for the Railsplitters, going 8-6 together while holding a 6-5 record in the top doubles seed. Against SAC opponents, the pairing dominated to the tune of 5-2 in the regular season.

This marks the first postseason award for the senior Aranzeta Boneta, while the junior Bourguignon earns his first award with Lincoln Memorial, having earned First-Team All-Appalachian Athletic Conference accolades with Union Commonwealth University last season.

Thanks to the contributions of their leaders, the Railsplitters earned the third-seed in the SAC Tournament this weekend after reaching a program-best ranking of 16th at one point this season.

LMU will look to continue their strong season tomorrow, facing Coker in the opening round of the conference tournament at 9:00 a.m. at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, South Carolina. A list of the full postseason conference awards can be found below.
