AAustin, Texas - Senior men's tennis player Alexandru Rares Giurea has capped off his final season by being named to the CSC Academic All-American Second-Team for Division II men's tennis.
Giurea was one of three Railsplitters to be named to the College Sports Communicators All-District team, finishing the year with a 10-5 singles record and a First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference honor on the court, ending a career where he earned three First-Team All-Conference awards and was named Freshman of the Year in 2023.
In the classroom, the Business Analytics major finished with a 3.90 GPA and was named the South Atlantic Conference men's tennis Scholar Athlete of the Year last month.
The 2026 Academic All-American® Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
