Harrogate, TN - Lincoln Memorial women's soccer is set to have their home opener against the Columbus State Cougars Saturday, with kick off slated for 12:00 pm. The theme for Saturday's home opener is Buzz Day, in honor of LMU Women's Soccer's mascot, Buzz.
The weekend match will be the 11th all-time contest between CSU and LMU, with the overall record being 1-9. The last match up between the two programs was in 2024, where Lincoln Memorial fell to Columbus State 0-3, and the lone win of the series goes back to 2005 where the Railsplitters defeated the Cougars 7-3.
Lincoln Memorial is coming off of a 2-2 draw with Trevecca Nazarene, where
Riley Miller and
Norah Alcorn both scored goals within the first 15 minutes, with both assists coming from
Camden Prosser.
The Cougars were selected first in the Peach Belt Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll and LMU was voted seventh in the South Atlatnic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.
In the preseason United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll, Columbus State was receiving votes.
Donna van der Zalm,
Emma Cooke, and
Jade Brown were identified as named as Players to Watch by the South Atlantic Conference, and players to watch for CSU include Mia Robinson (#16), Kelsey Croft (#5), and Payton Conti (#20).
