WINGATE, NC -- The Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball team traveled to Wingate, North Carolina, putting its three-game winning streak on the line to take on the Wingate Bulldogs on Friday, ultimately dropping a hard-fought match in straight sets. In the opening frame, the Railsplitters battled through a tightly contested set characterized by strong net play and strategic distribution, but Wingate managed to edge ahead and secure the first set by a score of 25 to 20.
Looking to bounce back in the second set, Lincoln Memorial continued to generate offense through key kills. Despite periods of resilient play, tactical substitutions, and defensive stops, the Bulldogs maintained their momentum to capture the second set 25 to 15.
The third set saw further tactical battles with Lincoln Memorial fighting to extend the match through key kills and defensive blocks by the frontline rotation. However, Wingate ultimately sealed the sweep by taking the final frame 25 to 20. The Railsplitters will look to regroup quickly as they travel to Hartsville, SC tomorrow afternoon for a showdown with the Coker Cobras.
