No. 4 Railsplitter Golf Dominates 2026 South/Southeast Regional Preview

Dade City, Fla.– No. 4 Lincoln Memorial men's golf wrapped up the 2026 South/Southeast Regional Preview this Tuesday, Sept. 29 at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla., placing first overall as a team, and Railsplitter Henry Drake taking home individual medalist honors at the end of the tournament.

The Railsplitters hit 51-under par as a team, led by Henry Drake at 18-under (66-64-68), a performance that led to Drake claiming individual medalist honors. Henry Linley followed behind at 12-under par (69-67-68) himself, taking 2nd place. Harry Dickins also found himself at 6th for the Splitters at 9-under par (74-63-70). Morgan Cain rounded out the top-10 finishes for Lincoln Memorial, finding himself tied at 8th place with a 7-under par (70-70-69) performance of his own. Edward Mason had himself a strong outing as well, tying for 16th place with a 6-under par (69-70-71) tournament. Rounding out the Railsplitters was Ryan Gavin, tied at 28th with a 2-under par (70-72-72) outing.

The Railsplitters managed to beat out tough competition to take both individual medalist honors and the top-place team spot. Some of the teams the Railsplitters beat out included No. 2 University of North Georgia, No. 9 Columbus State University, No. 14 Saint Leo University, and No. 17 Flagler College.

After the first round the Railsplitters found themselves neck and neck with Columbus State at 14-under par, followed closely by Palm Beach Atlantic University and Lander University who were tied with 10-under par. Drake had a strong first round performance, going for six-under par (66) to start out the tournament. Linley and Mason both shot 3-under (69) themselves to help contribute to the Railsplitters overall score. Rounding out the team scoring for the first round was Cain and Gavin both at 2-under par (70). Dickins had a rough start two-over par (74), the only time a Railsplitter would end a round over-par for the rest of the tournament.

The second round marked the turning point for the rest of the tournament as Lincoln Memorial shot 24-under as a team. Dickins surged, going for a 9-under par (63) performance for the 2nd round. Drake was right at Dickins heels, hitting 8-under (64) himself. Linley found himself at 5-under (67) to continue his own day. Cain and Mason rounded out second round scoring for the Splitters, both hitting 2-under (70) to solidify the impressive second round. Gavin hit even-par to stay high on the leaderboard.

The third round was not as kind to the Splitters, ending with a tournament-low 12-under par round. Drake and Linley led the Splitters for the round, both shooting to the tune of 4-under par (68). Cain shot a tournament-best 3-under par (69) to finish his strong outing. Dickins found himself rising in the ranks with a 2-under par (70) performance to finish his day and round out the final team scoring for the Splitters. Mason finished his tournament with a one-under par (71) round, and Ryan Gavin shot even-par (72) to secure his spot.

"I'm incredibly proud of this group and the way they competed this week." Said Head Coach Brad Robinson. "To win as a team, break the school scoring record, set a new single-round record and have Henry earn his first collegiate victory makes it a really special week for our program. Those are significant accomplishments, and the guys deserve a lot of credit for the work they've put in and the way they've believed in each other and our processes.

It's important that we enjoy being rewarded along the way and take pride in what we're accomplishing, because those moments matter. At the same time, we know this is a long season and there's a lot of golf to be played. We have to stay grounded, stick to our processes and be honest about the things we need to improve. We'll take some time to reflect on this week, clean up what we need to, and then get right back to work preparing for next week. That's the standard we want for this program."

The Railsplitters will be back in action on Monday, Oct. 25-26 for the Hurricane Invitational hosted by Georgia Southwestern State University at Doublegate Country Club in Albany, Ga., looking to continue their strong start to the season.
