Harrogate, TN -- The Lincoln Memorial University volleyball team is set to open both its home slate and South Atlantic Conference schedule on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 2 PM, as the Lady Railsplitters host the Tusculum University Pioneers inside the newly renovated Mary Mars Gymnasium.
The Lady Railsplitters enter the rivalry match up relying on strong individual performances across the court to propel them to victory. On the attack, Kaytlin Johnson leads the squad with 32 kills, followed closely by Jazmine Starks with 22, Georgia Dobson with 17, and both Laney Inman and Sparks contributing 15 kills each. Facilitating the offense, set distribution has been anchored by Jana Petkovic with 51 assists and Lauren Pickett with 43 assists, while Lauren Jacob, Dobson, and Johnson have also chipped in to keep the attack moving.
Defensively and on the service line, Lincoln Memorial has shown remarkable depth and hustle. Jacob has spearheaded the back row defense with an impressive 50 digs, supported by Johnson with 28, Pickett with 25, Petkovic with 22, and Sparks with 16 digs. From the service line, Jacob and Pickett lead the team with three service aces apiece, while Dobson, Johnson, and Petkovic have each added two. At the net, Starks protects the front row with a team-high eight blocks, with Dobson, Inman, Aaliyah Rodgers, and Sparks providing additional presence with four blocks each.
