John Tedesco has been promoted to an Assistant Coach for the 2024-2025 Men’s Basketball Season. Tedesco, enters his third year on staff after serving as a Graduate Assistant for the LMU Men’s Basketball Program the previous two years.
As a Graduate Assistant, Tedesco compiled a 54-14 record and was involved in multiple aspects of the Men’s Basketball Program that included recruiting, basketball operations, video, scouting and administrative responsibilities. Tedesco has been involved in two Regular Season Conference Championships, a Regional Championship, and an appearance in the 2023 Elite Eight National Tournament.
During the 2023-2024 season Tedesco helped the Railsplitters to a second consecutive NCAA Tournament Appearance and a Regular Season Conference Championship since being hired. Highlighting the year, Martez Brown received D2CAA All-American Status by recording 13.0 Points Per Game, 13.8 Rebounds Per Game while leading the country in double doubles (22) , Field Goal Percentage (71.94%) , and Rebounding (457). Tez accomplished numerous accolades including tying a school record and South Atlantic Conference record for the Most Rebounds in a single game performance (28) Tez would also go on to break a SAC record for Most Rebounds (309) in a single season in the history of the South Atlantic Conference.
The Railsplitters also sought out Freshmen of the Year, 3rd Team All Conference, and 1st Team All Tournament Team for the South Atlantic Conference Guard Wes Enis who joined the team in the second half of the season recording multiple 30 point games averaging 17.9 Points Per Game , 3.3 Rebounds Per Game , 2.5 Assists Per Game on 44.2% Field Goal, 36.1% 3 Point Field Goal, and 84% Free Throw. Wes’ career high was on a 35 point performance vs. Emory & Henry where the Railsplitters won 92-78 on the road.
Tedesco in 2022-2023 worked with and helped develop First Team All-SAC guards Quay Kennedy and Chase Rankin and Third Team All-SAC guard Me'Kell Burries. Rankin led all of Division II in total assists (250) and assists per game (7.1). Rankin was named All-Region by the NABC and D2CCA and was on the Top 50 Watch List for the Bevo Francis Award given to the player with the finest overall season in small college basketball. This team went on to advance to the Elite Eight National Tournament finishing up at 30-5 overall record.
Prior to Lincoln Memorial University, Tedesco was involved with the University of Cincinnati Men’s Basketball Team (DI) for the 2021-2022 basketball season serving as a student volunteer. His responsibilities under Cincinnati Head Coach Wes Miller were assisting with the day-to-day operations, which included tasks with player development, basketball operations, charting, and team travel.
Before his career progressed to collegiate athletics Tedesco organized a Coaches vs. Cancer event that raised and surpassed the record for a single game high school boys basketball event ($15,022) in the state of Indiana in honor of Lauren Hill from Lawrenceburg, Indiana who had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.
Tedesco, a native of Moores Hill, Indiana, started his coaching career as a High School Boys Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach and Head Coach of the Junior-Varsity Boys Basketball team for multiple high school basketball programs in Indiana. Tedesco received his Bachelors in History from the University of Cincinnati in 2022 before obtaining his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in the Spring of 2024.
