Brooklyn Borum joins the Lincoln Memorial University volleyball staff as a Graduate Assistant while pursuing her Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Digital Marketing. A former four-year student-athlete at the University of Virginia, Borum brings a wealth of high-level playing experience and passion for the game to the Rail-splitters program.
During her career at UVA, Borum appeared in 111 matches, starting nearly every one, and played over 370 sets for the Cavaliers. Known for her consistency and versatility as a six-rotation outside hitter, she became one of the program’s most reliable all-around performers. In her senior season (2024), Borum started all 31 matches and played in 115 sets, finishing third on the team with 235 kills (2.04 per set) and second in digs per set (2.39). She earned Cavalier Classic All-Tournament Team honors and posted standout performances including a season-high 16 kills against Cal and a career-best seven assists at Syracuse.
Across her four-year collegiate career, she was a steady contributor in both offense and defense. As a freshman, Borum made an immediate impact — earning ACC All-Freshman Team, VaSID Rookie of the Year, and VaSID First Team All-State honors after leading the Cavaliers in kills per set (2.39) and recording seven double-doubles. Her freshman season also included All-Tournament Team selections at the VCU Invitational and UVA’s home tournament, establishing her as one of the top young players in the ACC.
Before her collegiate career, Borum was one of the most decorated prep players in Illinois volleyball. At Sterling High School, she was a 2020 AVCA Second Team High School All-American, ranked No. 23 nationally by PrepVolleyball.com, and the 2019 16U Open Player of the Year. She was also named Illinois Prep Volleyball First Team All-State (2019–20), Sauk Valley Co-Player of the Year (2020), and Sterling High School Co-MVP (2020) alongside her twin sister, Breelyn. A three-time AAU All-American and two-time Under Armour All-National Team selection, Borum competed with both Sports Performance and Fusion Volleyball Clubs, capturing three national championships. She also helped lead Sterling to back-to-back IHSA Class 3A State Championships in 2018 and 2019 — the first in school history.
Off the court, Borum earned her Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from the University of Virginia, where she balanced academics, athletics, and community involvement as a Division I student-athlete. Now at Lincoln Memorial University, she is pursuing her MBA in Digital Marketing and beginning her coaching career, eager to combine her competitive experience to help elevate the LMU volleyball program both on and off the court.
