Jacob Craig

Jacob Craig was named interim head coach of the Railsplitters on August 8th, 2025. He is in his second season with the program after serving as the assistant coach/recruiting coordinator in the 2024/25 season. 

Craig joined the coaching staff in 2024 and assisted the Railsplitters to a 24-1 record and the program’s 7th consecutive Independent Volleyball Association (IVA) tournament championship. This historic season was filled with many team accolades. The Railsplitters had the best record in the NCAA along with the best opposing hitting percentage, and was ranked inside the top ten in multiple other team statistics. The program also was awarded the AVCA academic excellence award for the best men’s team GPA in Division II. 

Prior to Craig’s arrival in Harrogate, TN, he was an intern assistant coach for West Virginia State’s women’s volleyball team under head coach Hillary Hurley. WVSU ended up ranked #1 in the Mountain East Conference and hosting the postseason tournament where they fell short in the MEC championship to Wheeling University. The year prior, Craig was a volunteer assistant for his Alma Mater the University of Charleston and assisted their women’s program to an MEC championship appearance. 

During his time as an assistant for both WVSU and UC, Craig was a member of the University of Charleston’s men’s volleyball program where he was a Libero and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and Business where he found his love for coaching. 

Off the court Jacob enjoys spending time with his wife Tristan and their three dogs Lillian, Mika, and Lady.
