Biography

2013-14: Appeared in 18 games and started five after having to miss a large chunk of time due to a broken hand...scored in double figures three times including a season high 14 points vs Anderson on 11/26/13...scored 80 points on the season [4.4 per appearance] and handed out 23 assists...nearly had a triple-double in a win at Mars Hill, posting 8 points 8 rebounds and 7 assists in only 22 minutes.

2012-13: Wakeley appeared in 14 games before suffering a broken foot that sidelined him for the remainder of the season. He was averaging 16.9 minutes a game before suffering the injury in an overtime win against Lenoir-Rhyne on January 19. Prior to the injury, Wakeley was averaging 4.7 points per game and 2.1 rebounds per game while handing out 27 assists. He shot 44.4% from three and posted an 81.8% clip at the free throw line. He scored in double figures on December 8 at Virginia-Wise where he netted 11 points, pulled down four rebounds, and dished out five assists.


2011-12: In his first season at Lincoln Memorial, CJ made a splash, appearing in 27 games and starting six of those affairs. Wakeley finished the season averaging 3.3 points per game. He came on strong late in the season, tallying double-figures in three of the final seven games of the season, highlighted by his 15-point performance in a win over Tusculum in the opening round of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament. Wakeley compiled 10 points in a win over Lenoir-Rhyne (2/25) and notched 13 points against Anderson (2/18).  He notched a career-high five rebounds in LMU’s win over OSU-Mansfield (11/25) and recording a career-high six assists against Lenoir-Rhyne (2/25). He finished the season with a 36% mark from the field and a 71% number from the charity stripe.


Prep: During his stead at Santa Fe High School, Wakeley accrued a significant number of accolades, highlighted by him being named First Team All-State after leading his team to a 19-10 mark. Along with that, he was named the Gainesville Sun Player of the Year, as well as the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Class 3A North Central Player of the Year in his junior and senior seasons. He finished his senior campaign with a scoring average of 29 per game and an assist average of 3.8 per game. Wakeley added 2.4 steals per game and scored 40+ points on three separate occasions. He ranked among the scoring leaders throughout the entire state of Florida. CJ completed his career with over 1,900 points at Santa Fe High School.
