Bill Porter

Bill Porter joined the Lincoln Memorial University athletic media relations department in 2000 and was named the director of athletic statistics & publications in January 2012 when the sports information department was restructured. 
 
An alumnus of LMU, Porter has been the team statistician for basketball since 1992 and all sports since 2000. He handles all the statistics for each sport and oversees publication of media guides, the website and other related athletic department projects. He is the primary statistics contact for all sports.
 
His efforts in compiling the then-nonexistent year-by-year results for many LMU sports as well as other efforts inspired the creation of the LMU R. Martin Peters Young Alumnus Award, of which Porter was the first recipient.
 
Prior to returning to LMU in 2000, Porter worked at WATE-TV 6 in Knoxville, Tenn., as a production assistant.
 
A native of Knoxville, Tenn., Porter earned a bachelor’s degree in communication arts with a broadcasting emphasis in 1994.
