Biography
2017-18
• Played in 25 games, starting 18, before suffering a season-ending injury against Coker
• Was second in the team in scoring and third in free throws and assists
• Set a new career high in points against Tusculum (and tied it against Tennessee Wesleyan)
• Tied her career high of five rebounds on three occastions (Catawba, Lenoir-Rhyne and Tennessee Wesleyan)
2016-17
• Averaged 5.4 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals a game
• Played in all 33 contests and averaged 15.1 minutes a game
• Also had 43 assists
• Had a career high 15 points at Catawba and a career high six steals vs. Lees-McRae.
2015-16
• Played in 21 games, averaging 6.1 minutes a game
• Had a career high eight points and five rebounds at Tusculum
• Had three steals against Brevard in both meetings.
PRIOR TO LMU
Rachel, along with sister Emily are the first set of twins to wear the Blue and Gray since the 1985-86 season, when LMU had two sets at once (Terry and Sheila Whitehead and Cindy and Elaine Davis)
• Another LMU first she is a part of is three members of the same family are on the same team - Rachel and Emily Griffith and cousin Sydney Duggins
• Prepped at nearby Oliver Springs High School, where she and her sister helped lead the Lady Bobcats to the state semifinals in 2015
• Scored 1,611 points and had 371 rebounds, 481 assists and 414 steals during her prep career
• Was named Co-District Most Valuable Player (along with Emily) her senior season
• Griffith was named District 4-A Tournament MVP in 2015... Named to TSWA All-State and All-State Tournament (2015), All-Region 2-A (2013-15), All-District 4-A (2013-15), All-County (2013-15) and All-District 4-A Tournament (2012-15) teams
• Played in the Tennessee Girl's All-Star game in 2015
• Along with her sister she also played softball at OSHS where they racked up three consecutive district titles and a fifth-place finish in the 2013 state tournament
• Was named TSWA All-State in softball in 2013 and 2014
• The duo both were invited to play at the TSCA Softball All-Star Game in June, 2015.
